Guayusa Energy is a super-leaf found in the Amazonian jungle naturally containing almost as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. Known as “The Night Watchman” by the indigenous Kichwa people who drink it to stay awake, it is packed with polyphenols, 15 amino acids and twice the antioxidants of green tea. Unlike energy or coffee beverages, guayusa provides balanced energy without the jitters or sudden crash commonly associated with caffeinated beverages. Guayusa’s catechins provide a slow release of natural caffeine for sustainable energy throughout the day. Additionally, unlike black and green teas, guayusa does not have any tannins so the taste is smooth and slightly sweet with an earthy aroma and no bitterness. Guayusa is related to yerba mate, as they are both from caffeinated rainforest holly trees. Traditionally, Kichwa families would drink guayusa as an early morning ritual, sitting around a fire and sharing legends and myths. Enjoy a cup in the morning or during the day!
